Review of the Garwin Edge 305
By Scott A.
Was a wee bit sceptical on buying this due to number of issues with reliability, battery issues etc..glad i took the plunge mine has worked flawlessly and gives approx 12hrs life between charges..i download all my workouts to my training peaks account(using device agent)and i'm mightly impressed..the unit itself really is childs play to use so intuitive..maybe there was a rogue batch..?( one flaw as mentioned before regarding two buttons on front of unit they don't like dirty water, more a problem if you mtb,i do more road but pop my garmin into pocket for mtb rides not great but still records data etc..) i have only had for approx 2mths so i will report back if any problems arise..

I got my 305 a week ago. I had been using a Polar CS200 until recently, and am finding the 305 has a lot more to offer. The HR monitor seems to be more reliable, and ease of use is great - you just stick the 305 on the mount provided and once it has picked up a sattelite signal, it starts giving you a wealth of information about how fast you are travelling, what direction you are headed in and even what the time is. I have also used the device for running- and have found the automatic lap function really useful.

I have been using this for 12 months now - have had no problems with it until now! Thought it was broken but it was the lock that had for some reason gone on. Found the way to unlock it on the Garmin website - but it was a useful piece of advice in a previous review, as it is not mentioned at all in the manual. I liked this kit so much it persuaded me to buy Garmin for my sat nav!
